Special notes:

These Tropheus hybrids between T. sp. “crescentic” and T. sp. “black” are found in the area between Cape Caramba and Muzimu. In this area, they show highly variable coloration, ranging from green to red, and the caudal fin may be crescent-shaped in some individuals but not in others. Some sources suggest that “Muzimu Green” and “Ubwari Green” may represent the same variant from the same locality, although this has not yet been fully confirmed.
