Popo Point, Lake Tanganyika, Tanzania
Photo gallery
Arriving from the north, Popo Point makes the entrance to Lyapinda Bay, in which Manyoni Rocks are found. The latter is a shallow reef with several interesting cichlids. At Popo Point we found Tropheus “Wampembe” in 1991, now referred to as the “Popo Point” variant, after discovering the Tropheus “Murago Tanzania” at the nearby Wampembe village in May 2008 (Karlsson & Karlsson, 2016).
